Think DAMIT!

After coming off of a slight depressed phase (we got cable+ watching too much TV= not enough thinking). I have come to a conclusion (at least for now) that the busier I am and more involved in my work(and philosophy behind my work with children) I become; the better I feel.
I am doing this really awesome culture/diversity training with a group of women who are involved in my center. We met today and I just felt that I was being constructive on a personal level as well as helping others understand culture and diversity. It was really comforting to discuss issues that have been weighing me down lately.
I also went to a lecture to hear Diane Levin speak about violence and children's play. I had already heard her speak before about 9/11 (she is a professor at my alma mater sp?) and it was great. This lecture focused on children's play and how they imitate the violence they see in the media thus, they are not PLAYING simply imitating. In return, they are not developing appropriate play skills which AID in PROBLEM SOLVING i.e critical thinking. Which, by the way this society as well as educational institutions lack!
My point---- Just Think People!
